Monroe house
is and older, historic home located a few blocks west of Missouri State
University. Community records indicate its age may exceed 100 years. But,
it has been well maintained and features many modern conveniences while at
the same time retaining much of its original architecture and style.
There are six main rooms, ...three bedrooms, a
parlor, a living room kitchen, 1 and 1/2 bath. Basement for the
mechanical equipment, but a separate room for storage, hobbies or
whatever. The private parking lot can easily accommodate four cars. The
front porch provides an outside sitting area. Generally, occupants park
their vehicles on the south side and enter the house thru the back door.
The Landlord maintains the house and landscaping.
Service calls are generally responded to on the same day. Utilities
include electric and gas, high efficiency furnace and air conditioner.
There are two hot water heaters (80 gallons) so there should be more than
adequate supply of hot water. Ceiling fans in most rooms provide air
suitable for summer and winter.
One of the most attractive features of this home
are the four stained glass interior window transoms. They reflect the
rural nature of Springfield as it was in the older days. The floors are
original, as are most doors and window casings. |
